So all teams can be way above cap and then just put all their guys on waivers then and send them all to minors?.. Honestly cant remember and just double checking Any player on waivers can be picked up... so you can put anyone there, at your own risk. Ya i know thats the rule with that.. Im just more curious about that cap situation we were discussing with making sure we have to be under cap when season starts or everyone can be over and then just start putting guys on waivers to store in minors to get under cap

Well right now it's off-season for waivers etc. But before the season you're essentially putting anyone not on the main roster that is over 2.5mil through "Waivers"

Just to recap (hope I cover everything here)
Two days before the regular season, all teams have to be cap compliant. The salary cap will be 1.4 times whatever the NHL's salary cap is, so we won't announce ours until the NHL makes a final decision - expect it to be around $116,000,000, which would be an increase of just under 5mil. At that time, ANY PLAYER who has a salary of over 2.5mil will have to pass through waivers, even if they passed through waivers in the past (even over the summer). You can send players through waivers over the summer as well, but it will not absolve you of having to send the player through waivers again before the season. It would just be a way of possibly getting rid of a player you don't want with the hope that another team picks him up. If you see a player on someone's minor league team, that would be because they passed through waivers during the previous season (although there is absolutely nothing wrong with sending players to your minors without waivers over the offseason). Teams can be as over the cap as they want during the offseason.
Regarding the IR question from last season, it seems like there was a vast majority of owners who wanted the rule to be that no one can be on the IR when our rosters have to be cap compliant immediately before the season. So when our final rosters are due, everyone will have to be off the IR, and only after the OK from the commissioners will players be eligible to be returned to the IR. Again, over the offseason you can do whatever you want.

I've gotten a lot of questions on this, so I wanted to clear up the confusion... Picks on Fantrax are not official, and I don't keep the draft picks there updated. Nor do I use it for anything. The only entry draft lists that matter are here on Proboards. If you see that someone has a draft pick on Fantrax, it doesn't mean anything, only what you see in the draft threads on Proboards.

A suggestion: can we start using Fantrax as the official information sources for picks? It would make looking at a team picks / roster way easier as everything would be there (the only thing missing would be the prospects pool).
I know it would represent a lot of work up front, but after it, the maintenance would be a lot easier as picks could be included in trade on Fantrax. I'm also willing to help in updating every team's picks.

I think I agree with this as well. It makes it easier. The main issue would be if we ever switch back to standard fantrax
