Hello all, hope you're enjoying your offseason.
The free agency draft is upon us. It will begin on Monday, July 15 at midnight EST time (Sunday night, Monday morning).
The commissioners have decided that both drafts (free agency and entry level) will be done on Proboards and not on Fantrax. Too many technical difficulties last year with the draft on Fantrax, much simpler on Proboards.
There will be four rounds in the draft. The draft order is according to the reverse of the standings at the end of the regular season, not based on the playoffs (we went through this last year, this is based on the NHL's rules).
No trading picks.
There is an 8 hour time limit for each pick. This is to account for the different time zones that we are all in. However, this does not mean that you should take 8 hours for your pick. If you know your pick is coming up, be around. If your pick is up and you know you won't be around, send a list to either Canucks or Penguins so they can make your pick.
If you are not planning on participating in the draft, or are not planning on making any more picks, please let me know so I can update everyone that your picks are canceled.
Every player or prospect is eligible for the draft, except for players drafted in the 2019 NHL draft.
After the draft, free agency will be officially open. You can sign whomever you want, outside of 2019 NHL draftees. Remember that there is a limit of one player signed per 12 hours.
The entry level draft will be sometime in August, based on the final NHL arbitration date. When that will be announce, we will announce the official date of the entry level draft.
Here is the draft order:
Colorado Avalanche - not picking
Montreal Pirates
Castle Rock Rage
Westsyde Wombats
Winnipeg Jets - done picking
Chicago Blackhawks - done picking
Quebec Nordiques - done picking
San Jose Sharks
Boston Bruins
Vancouver Canucks - not picking
Pittsburgh Penguins - done picking
Crease Kings
