I think we need more teams not larger rosters.

Seems like rosters are pretty massive as is. Dont really see why we would want more

I agree with Bruins. In the eventuality where we don't add teams, I think roster size (or cap space) need to be augmented. The reason: a lot of "good" players (think 2-2.2 PPG, a 5 M$ salary, > 25 years old) have pretty much no value right now.

I don't think adding teams would be so simple. We've had a hard enough time finding owners for our current teams. Especially considering we might have a very short offseason, I don't think this offseason would be the time to do it either. I agree with Nordiques, we need to increase BOTH cap space and roster size. Too many good players have no value in the league right now. Which is part of why we were suggesting changing the scoring system a bit to give more value to those players.

In my uneducated opinion (I am from NH - so forgive me)If we increase cap and/or roster size then free agency will be even more worthless than it is currently. The best player Kopitar is a free agent due to his 10m cap hit - before the deadline I considered picking him up for the play off run but if we increase size/cap then he is off the table. It goes with the same argument about increasing our buyouts, then the penalty for picking up a Kopitar is lessen. We need to add more value to players with a scoring change but not increasing size/cap. 80 players is a huge roster for a 12 team league. We need rules to encourage trading to gain roster spots or cap space. A larger cap/roster I think would restrict trading even more. I'm looking forward to a reduction in cap space with the shorten season to add some intrigue to the off season.

I see both sides. One thing we tossed around was adding maybe 1-2 flex positions. That could free up some value etc. I will start another poll to try and clarify some of the options

I think the scoring change and the lack of roster movement (trade and free agent) are two different problems that need to be addressed separately.
The scoring change would merely rebalance the value of players. Some will gain value while others would lose some. I think we should make change to the scoring system with the objective of players being closer to their real-life value (i.e. in our league, I could argue that Tom Wilson is worth more than Rantanen. I would obviously not do that in real life).
As far as the lack of roster movement goes, right now, most teams are close to the maximum of roster spots and cap space. That makes it really challenging to pull-off trade as both teams have to balance roster spots, cap space and the value of the players being traded. I guess the solution for that would depend on what we value more: trade or free agents.

Adding to it, the contracts say post rfa are part of the problem. o
